Mission District

Welcome to Mission District

Home to a rich Hispanic cultural history since the 1950’s, the Mission is defined by colorful murals on many of its buildings and a wonderful mix of trendy ethnic dining. The sunny and warm Mission has become one of the fastest changing neighborhoods in the City, where you can expect lively crowds, debates over which taqueria makes the best burritos, and a continual stream of new restaurant openings. The Mission is flat, making it very walkable and easy to travel on bikes, scooters, and skateboards. The Valencia Street Corridor, only one block from Mission Street, offers a distinctly different lifestyle which caters to hipsters, artists, activists and urban dwellers. The housing stock is a great mix of Edwardian, Victorian, and Contemporary, and the mix of single family homes, multi-unit rentals, and condos is exciting.
